If you are opening a food establishment, check first with the local Public Health Department  541.947.6045

For building or changing an existing business type, check first with the planning division in your jurisdiction;

Make sure the name you are using for your business isn't already taken.  If you have a name that isn't already registered, be sure to register it with the state to protect your use of it.

If you have employees be sure to know the BOLI laws and all applicable state and federal employment laws.
